Kony 'too ill' for Peace

LRA Leader Joseph Kony

Uganda rebel leader Joseph Kony has delayed the signing of the peace deal to end the over 20 years rebellion in Northern Uganda. The Peace deal was to be signed on Thursday but due to Kony's health he might not be able to attend the ceremony in Southern Sudan.

The Northern Uganda conflict has left many dead and thousands displaced. The international Criminal court was forced to issue arrest warrants for Mr.Kony and two others, however its for that reason the LRA leader is delaying the signing of the peace deal that will see an end to the Northern Uganda conflict.

The government of Uganda has agreed to set up special courts to try those accused of special crimes but it does not have the power to make ICC drop the indictments.
