Prime Minister designate Raila Odinga came out of a meeting that lasted more than 2 hours on the 25.Mar.2008 at Harambee house saying that they were not yet ready with the naming of the new coalition government.
This was during a press briefing where he assured journalists that consultations were still going on though unsure of when the new cabinet would be announced.
The two leaders are required to name Ministers under the national accord that was brokered by former UN secretary general Kofi Annan. The pact that was signed after two months of negotiations require that the cabinet posts be split evenly between the two factions to formulate a coalition government.
Meanwhile one of the local dailies warns of acute shortage of food in Kenya in the months to come as a result of the post election violence. Rioters torched granaries whereas farmers were evicted from their lands plunging the maize-producing areas into acute deficits in the seasons to come.
On a positive note the United States has relaxed a travel warning it had impossed on traveling to Kenya after the February 28 power sharing deal, however Washington also warned their citizens to be on alert as Kenya is still recovering from one of its worst crises since 1963.
