A train heading to Uganda was hijacked, protesters started looting something that forced the police to respond killing several civilians. This was in a Kenyan slum of Kibera. Apparently residents in this area claim that the protests that have lasted for three weeks have left them with barely nothing.
Yesterday was day 2 of a new round of opposition protesting the December 27 Elections which made Mwai Kibaki turn out a victor by just a few votes. Protesters and Police were fighting each other in several cities of Kenya.
Kenyan Television Crew filmed an officer in Kisumu shooting a civilian. Opposition supporters who saw this tape vowed to revenge.
In case a political solution is not found the European Union (EU) threatens to freeze aid to Kenya. Police in Kenya says opposition political leaders are using innocent civilians in the protests so they are reacting with a lot of restrain as opposed to ODM leader claims that they are under instruction to shoot to kill.
ODM says by the end of today they will calm down but effective next week they are going to use a different strategy which will involve boycotting companies of the government's hardliners of which Brookside Dairies, City Hopper Bus services and Equity Bank were mentioned.
On Tuesday 4 people were killed, Yesterday 7 were killed and the protests end today. At least 250,000 people have been displaced and 6,000 have fled to Uganda.
