By Michael Nampala  04 August 2021 10:05am EAT

Artists have been flocking to Gulu in the last few days, but it was not exactly clear what they were up to. "For those who wanted to know why GULU is GULU, here you are," Bebe Cool roared.

Using his IG profile, Bebe Cool who was armed with a certificate of attendance from the workshop that lasted more than a week shared bits of what was transpiring in  Gulu.

"Today (Aug3) marks the last day in Gulu where we have been attending a workshop under the theme; 'Strengthening the Cultural and Creative Industry in Uganda."

During the workshop we dissected the Performing Arts industry using the SWOT (Strength Weakness Opportunities and Threats), SMEACC (Situtaion Mission Execution Administration Comman & Control) and TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) analysis to understand the position of the industry, identify the enemy and strategize on how to attack and win the war of restructuring the industry.

The arts and creative industry contributes 3% of Uganda's GDP and this gives us the right for government to pay full attention and organise our industry.

I want to thank the Chief coordinator Operation Wealth Creation; Gen Salim Saleh, Director Operation Wealth Creation; Sylvia Owori, Minister of State Gender; Hon Peace Mutuzo, Ambassador Idro, General Kayanja, Major Herbert Ndiwalana PA to General Saleh, Chairman UNCC; Mr Okello, Executive Director UNCC; Mr Ojede, Executive Director Micro Finance Support Center, Fellow legends; Dr Jose Chameleone, Ragga Dee President UNCF and the Creative Arts Industry at large.

The new Culture & Creative industry of Uganda begins today and may Allah bless it.
