Bobi Wine was this morning on a truck with loud speakers as he made his way to the campaign venue, he was arrested and driven to Kasangati Police station, he was later transferred to Kira Police station where his wife arrived within minutes to check on him, she was allowed to check on hubby. The Kampala Metropolitan Police commandant, Frank Mwesigwa, came out to speak to journalists very briefly explaining the whole saga. He told of how no charges were to be preferred against Bobi Wine as he was not actually arrested, but they just wanted to engage him on a few things that he was not following as required by the Electoral laws. Bobi Wine was released shortly after that and he had this to say; "I have not broken any law. I was supposed to be in Gayaza, but I was informed by the DPC that the President wants to use this venue, I understood. I don't want to fight and right now, we are moving to Gayaza so that we do not cause a Presidential embarrassment. My supporters, please restrain from any kind of violence because we can only achieve our goals through the vote and not violence." AdsBobi Wine flanked by his wife and supporters made their way to Gayaza grounds. According to the Electoral Commission, Bobi Wine was in the wrong venue. Meanwhile, there was confusion at Wampewo grounds which is the final official venue for the FDC candidate, Apollo Katinti. NRM had erected there stands there ready to address their supporters, Kizza Besigye ordered that everything to do with NRM be removed, this was done within minutes as he looked on clad in his blue and white checkered shirt. President Museveni is in the area to meet Boda Boda operators in Kasangati and also to campaign for the NRM candidate.
