Uganda Police issues guidelines on Bobi Wine's return

Honorable Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine returns today from his trip in the US where he had gone for treatment among others.

The Kyarenga singer who travelled with his wife and brother confirmed that he will be in Uganda on Sept 20. It should be recalled that he was arrested in Arua on August 13 following an attack on the presidential convoy.

The Kyadondo legislator was later released on bail and days later, he left the country for the US where he has been since then and once in a while, addressing some of his supporters in there.

Security forces have now issued guidelines that the legislator should follow from the airport to his home in Magere.

"On his arrival, the Hon. MP will be received at Entebbe International Airport by his immediate family.
 

He will be availed security from the airport to his home.
Police will further ensure law and order for all road users.

There shall be no unlawful rallies, processions and assemblies.

Any activity that entails a public gathering must be in conformity with the provisions of Public Order Management Act (POMA).

The Hon. MP is expected to comply with the traffic laws and regulations.

In conclusion, the police shall work with sister security agencies to ensure that there is law and order and total peace."

"I will then go and see my sickly grandmother briefly at Najjanankumbi from where I will head to Kamwokya for lunch with my family (brothers and sisters) before I go to my home in Magere."

One of Kyagulanyi's lawyers, Asuman Basalirwa, had hinted on Bobi Wine meeting with his supporters in Wampewo, but these gatherings have not been sanctioned as noted from Uganda Police;

"No member of his family has worked out a mechanism for these intended processions and assemblies as provided for in the law."
