Tear gas and arrests rocked Bobi Wine's One Love Beach

Bobi Wine and promoters of the Kyarenga Extra concert, Abby Musinguzi aka Abtex and Andrew Mukasa aka Bajjo of Bajjo events were on Monday arrested after police foiled their show for  having failed to fulfill certain security conditions.

The three were detained briefly and released much later, they vowed to continue with the upcountry concerts.

Speaking from his Magere based home where police dropped him off in a caged vehicle, The Kyarenga star told journalists that  over 100 shows of his have been cancelled todate and two of his cars impounded.

Earlier on, Bobi Wine addressed the press calling onto his supporters to come in large numbers and see him perform, but this was not possible.

Legislators like Hon. Zaake and Hon. Allan Sewanyana who unfortunately fainted in the process, they were all there to support Bobi Wine.

"Yesterday, the 21st day of April, 2019 the Uganda Police Force once again blocked our music concert, which had been scheduled to take place today at One Love Beach Busabala. Their letter also indicated that all our other planned shows across the country stand cancelled."

"For clarity, we have been planning to hold mega music concerts in the districts of Lira, Gulu and Kitgum and police had been duly notified. This brings the total number of our shows which have been blocked by the Police to 124!," Bobi Wine stated on his wall.

Meanwhile, all this was happening on Dr. Kizza Besigye's birthday, he wished him the very best on this day; 

"It's been such a long and busy day, but let me take this opportunity to wish my senior comrade and friend, Dr. Kizza Besigye a very happy 63rd birthday. You inspired many of us to fight against injustice and impunity and it gives me pleasure that on your birthday, we were doing exactly that. Many happy returns."
