In a letter dated November 23, 2018, Chin Bees, through his lawyers wants Fameica to cease and desist from any further promotion, use, performance of the infringing song. According to the letter, the 'Tonsukuma' singer was supposed to make an account of all the proceeds from the song by Thursday last week, but while appearing on NBS today evening, the singer confirmed that he had been approached earlier over the matter and they had resolved the matter though he is not surprised by the developments. Fameica revealed the reason why Kenya's Chin Bees went against what they had earlier on agreed to and was now taking this direction. |
Sponsored | "I am an artist and not a producer, all I do is to add my voice to a track. It's no wonder that many say I copy songs and yet these are just tracks, so as an artist, I don't know." Chin Bee's song and mine are different apart from the tracks which are slightly similar, but the truth of the matter is he followed me on Instagram telling me about how I copied his song. I told him that I am not aware and this was resolved, but from the moment I did a remix of the Mafia song with Cassper Nyovest, it has not been business as usual. We did a remix of that song (not yet released) and when Chin Bee learnt of this, he wanted to be featured on the Mafia remix song something the two parties have not agreed on, thus the intention to sue bit in which Fik is not allowed to do anything with the Mafia song. "I gave him the option of doing another song with him, but he insisted that he wants to appear on the Mafia remix song." Fik Fameica will be holding his My Journey concert on December 14, 2018 at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds doing his old and new hits, he will also perform his latest collaboration song with Wasafi's Rayvanny. |
