The year 2020 is a unique one with all things moving as per the COVID effects and the entertainment industry has been hit hard. While some sectors have been eased, artists have not fully resumed taking to the stage.
It has been six months when artists are not allowed to perform, though some continue to do so virtually or at relatively small gatherings.
In December 2019, we saw Eddy Kenzo's Semyekozo taking over and now we look at who has been dominating the charts from January to date.

Eddy Kenzo's Semyekozo and Tweyagale were at the top in the first quarter of the year
The year kicked off with Semyekozo still at the top, Chikibomboe, Wire Wire and Sheebah's Ekyama and Sweet Sensation followed in that order for the first week.
The following week saw David Lutalo's Ensi remove Kenzo from the top and Winnie Nwagi's Jangu is also spotted at number 3 for the second week.
In the third week, John Blaq is back to his usual games with Nekwatako while Spice Diana bounces back to the top ten with On You after her Omusheshe was reduced to position 11.
The final week of January is a battle from ex-lovers Eddy Kenzo and Rema as Clear is number one while Eddy Kenzo's Tweyagale audio promo settles at number 2.
King Saha too releases Sala Pulesa, but it settles at number. 9.
The war between ex-lovers Kenzo and Rema intensifies as the first four positions are dominated by them. The Tweyagale video is now released and it moves to the top, followed by Rema's Clear, Tweyagale audio at number 3 while Semyekozo settles at number 4. John Blaq's Nekwatako is next in line.
There's not much change in the second week except for Sauti Sol that join the top ten with their Suzanna video.
The third week sees Sheebah bouncing back to the top ten with Tevunya that she did with Fik Fameica, Spice Diana and Chozen Blood via their Muntu Wange pushing Semyekozo way below, but Kenzo is not bothered now that Tweyagale was settled at the top.
There was not much change in the final week apart from Tanasha Donna and Diamond Platnumz's Gere that settled at number 4.
This was the month when COVID became a reality to Ugandans so the pattern from April onwards will be of interest to many.
In the first week, Jose Chameleone displaced Eddy Kenzo's Tweyagale from the top with his Baliwa. Bebe Cool is spotted at number 3 with Rubeboy for the Feeling collaboration song.
Diamond Platnumz bounced back with Jeje at number 4 pushing his Gere that he did with his baby mama Tanasha to number 14.
In the second week of March, we see King Saha's Sala Pulesa settle at number 3 in the top 10 while Kenzo's Tweyagale bounces back to the top and Chameleone's Baliwa in the second position.
Not much change in the third week other than Eddy Kenzo maintaining the top position as Sheebah X Fik Fameica with Tevunya, Baliwa, Sala Pulesa, Semyekozo, Wire Wire, Chikibombe, Jangu and Boom Party follow in that order.
In the final week, John Blaq releases Hullo Hullo that settles at number 2. It is during the lockdown period and the first Corona song hits the top ten, it was from Rayvanny dubbed Magufuli-Corona.
