'Awo' a collaboration song by the B2C also known as the Kampala Boys is nominated in the category of ''Best African Duo, Group or Band." 'Weekend by Eddy Kenzo has won him a nod in the "Best Male Artist in East Africa'' where he will be tussling it out with Diamond Platnumz next door among others. The category to look out or this year is the "Best Female Artiste in East Africa" which has had two of our female artists Rema Namakula and Spice Diana nominated. 'Body' by Spice Diana featuring Nince Henry has landed her that nod. Rema Namakula appears on the "Best Female Artiste in East Africa" with her 'Loco' a combined force by Chike real name Ezekpeazu Osebuka a Nigerian singer, songwriter and actor plus DJ Harold, which will see fans from the three camps voting for the song. There is also another little known artist going by the name Afrie with the song titled 'I am an African Girl' on that list, she is also from Uganda. Others include Shivanah and Double S for "Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Tradition" and "Best African Act in the Diaspora The list covered close to 9,000 songs for consideration. Zuchu from Tanzania continues to do wonders with her Sukari hit song that has got her quite some nods in the AFRIMA. |
