Skål International Kampala recently celebrated a significant milestone: three decades of operation since its establishment around 1996. The “Pearl of Africa” chapter hosted a glamorous gala dinner at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel to commemorate the occasion.

The event convened prominent figures from Uganda’s tourism and hospitality sectors, fostering an atmosphere of “Doing Business Among Friends,” the organization’s guiding motto. Attendees included leaders from hotels, tour operators, and various industry associations, alongside representatives from the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB).

Hon. Martin Mugarra Bahinduka, the State Minister for Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor. His presence highlighted the government’s support for the tourism sector and its collaborative efforts to enhance Uganda’s standing as a prime East African destination.

The celebratory gathering served not only to acknowledge Skål’s past contributions to networking and industry resilience but also as a vital forum for discussing future opportunities, sustainable practices, and innovative strategies to boost Uganda’s global tourism profile.

The evening featured discussions, networking, and recognition, all while embodying Skål’s core values. As Uganda continues to develop as a tourist destination, the commitment remains strong to foster professional friendships that drive business success and shared prosperity.

This milestone reflects Skål International Kampala’s enduring dedication to its members and the broader tourism landscape. Cheers to 30 years and many more to come!
