The Kampala chapter of Skål International, a global network focused on “Doing Business Among Friends,” celebrated a significant milestone on January 30, 2026. The event, held at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel, gathered prominent figures from Uganda’s tourism and hospitality industries to commemorate three decades of fostering professional relationships and driving sector growth.
This landmark anniversary served as a platform for industry leaders to not only reflect on Skål Kampala’s contributions to networking and industry resilience but also to strategize for the future. Discussions centered on emerging opportunities, sustainable practices, and innovative approaches to enhance Uganda’s global tourism profile.
The gathering saw participation from key stakeholders, including representatives from the Uganda Hotel Owners Association (UHOA), the Association of Ugandan Women in Tourism Trade (AUWOTT), the Uganda Tourism Association (UTA), and the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB).
Hon. Martin Mugarra Bahinduka, the State Minister for Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor, underscoring the government’s commitment to positioning Uganda as a leading East African destination.
The celebration featured networking opportunities, discussions on industry advancement, and moments of recognition, all within an atmosphere of camaraderie that embodies Skål’s ethos.
