Vision Volleyball Club (VVC) bounced back strongly in Game Two of the best-of-three semifinal series against KCB-Nkumba, delivering the champions’ first defeat at Old Kampala Arena on Sunday morning.

After losing a tight 3-2 match in Game One on Saturday, VVC refused to go down easily. Despite trailing in all three sets, Hannington Nsubuga’s team mounted stunning comebacks to win 25-23, 25-19, and 26-24.

In the opener, VVC erased a 22-18 deficit to take the lead. Ketty Aluka dominated the second set, overpowering Nkumba’s block for a 25-19 victory. The third set saw VVC rally from 21-18 behind, with Hadijah Acelun’s sharp serves disrupting the opponents en route to a 26-24 finish.

Nkumba, who won all 18 regular-season games and Game One to reach 19 straight wins, struggled with shaky serving and reception. Coach Tonny Lakony noted post-match that poor passing neutralized middle blockers Nancy Chebet and Jennifer Alungat.

The series is now level at 1-1, with Game Three set for Tuesday to decide the finalist.
