Buganda Kingdom’s Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II delivered a poignant Easter message, cautioning Ugandans against behaviors eroding societal values. Delivered by Information Minister Israel Kazibwe at Bulange, the address highlighted the resurrection of Jesus Christ as a symbol of God’s love and a prompt for righteous living.

The Kabaka stressed the importance of reflection and renewal, thanking God for reaching this holy season. He pointed to increasing moral decay, violence, and disregard for vulnerable groups as threats to community fabric, urging collective action to restore respect, kindness, and responsibility.

Leaders in government, institutions, and families were called to lead with integrity and fairness, prioritizing justice and care for the weak. The monarch expressed worry over ongoing hardships faced by the sick, elderly, and economically challenged citizens, advocating support and solidarity.

Easter, he said, is an opportunity to foster unity through generosity and empathy, renewing faith and commitment to goodness inspired by Christ’s love. The message ended with wishes for a peaceful celebration rooted in faith and respect, bringing hope, healing, and togetherness.
