During a thanksgiving ceremony at Busoga High School in Kamuli District, Bishop Prof. Grace Lubaale of Busoga Diocese advised students to ditch fanciful ideas and set clear life goals from an early stage to sidestep future hardships.

He highlighted how many youths chase quick fixes that turn into disasters, pushing them into adult roles like self-parenting, premarital affairs, or advising others prematurely. “Avoid creating joblessness for elders like midwives and clergy, and steer clear of unplanned mishaps,” the bishop urged.

Bishop Lubaale outlined the “4Rs” for success: right time, right place, right action, and right company. He stressed that discipline and surroundings matter greatly, warning against unclear ambitions or mismatched subjects that breed false expectations.

He commended the school for fostering a thanksgiving culture, which promotes reflection, humility, and sustained excellence. Headteacher Oliver Nambi boasted of the institution’s prowess in sciences and co-curriculars like debates, football, chess, and scouting, crediting support from alumni and parents despite resource shortages and land issues.

The event wrapped up with teachers getting a symbolic handshake to honor their role in boosting student results and behavior.
