Maj Gen Henry Masiko Mourns Father and Brother Buried on Same Day

Emotional Double Burial in Rukiga District

Hundreds gathered at Mparo playground in Kanywero–Kashaki–Kihanga–Mparo Valley, Rukiga District, on April 19, 2026, for a poignant joint funeral. The ceremony honored Mzee Daniel Keisho Ndarubweine, who passed at 96 due to age-related issues, and his son Dr Joseph Twinomujuni Ndarubweine, 61, who succumbed to throat cancer. Both died on April 16 in Kampala.

Maj Gen Henry Masiko, UPDF Joint Staff–Political Commissariat officer and son to Mzee Ndarubweine and brother to Dr Twinomujuni, eulogized them as dedicated family leaders, honest, hardworking, and community servants. He praised his father’s unopposed political elections and his brother’s humility and developmental spirit.

Widow Ms Jenina Tindimureekura, 91, shared her grief, calling it God’s will while thanking Him for their children and education. Dr Twinomujuni’s wife, Ms Enid Namara, sought ongoing UPDF support for their six orphans and noted army aid during his treatment.

UPDF Deputy Commander-in-Chief Lt Gen Sam Okiding represented Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, delivering condolences and announcing donations: Shs10 million from Gen Muhoozi, Shs12 million from UPDF, and Shs45.9 million from generals. Officials lauded the deceased’s integrity and service.

Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna of Kigezi Diocese led the service, with burials at their Kanywero ancestral home. Mzee Ndarubweine leaves wife Jenina, three children, and grandchildren; Dr Twinomujuni leaves wife Enid and six children.
