Chilling digital evidence presented in court suggests Christopher Okello Onyum, the prime suspect in the Ggaba daycare center massacre, meticulously planned the brutal murder of four toddlers.
Prosecutors revealed that Onyum spent weeks researching execution methods and scouting various educational facilities across Kampala and Wakiso districts before the attack. His search history indicated a systematic approach, including queries about ISIS and graphic instructions on how to behead victims.
The suspect also explored potential targets beyond the Ggaba daycare, with searches covering schools in Matugga, Kyanja, and Ssemuto. He also specifically researched the area around the Ggaba daycare center.
Further disturbing findings included Onyum’s attempts to procure a weapon. He researched the process of acquiring a firearm in Uganda and investigated the proximity of local police stations, possibly indicating a fallback plan.
This digital trail complements the existing forensic evidence, including DNA found on the murder weapon that directly matches the suspect, painting a picture of a calculated plan rather than a spontaneous act.
The trial is ongoing, with Onyum currently in custody.
