In Bududa Town Council, Francis Masaba and Sarah Mutuwa’s romance began simply, evolving from friendship into a deep commitment tested by life’s demands. As an orphan, Sarah bore the weight of raising her four younger siblings, and Francis stepped up with patience rather than pressure.

He encouraged her to complete her Senior Four education, meeting sparingly during holidays while she focused on studies and family. Their bond grew stronger through restraint and mutual respect for her duties.

After her studies, Sarah trained as a seamstress and began living with Francis, but marriage remained on hold. Francis took on the role of provider, covering school fees and meals for the siblings until they were independent—some returned home, others married.

Only then did they proceed: their introduction ceremony on September 16, 2023, cost about Shs30m with church and clan support, followed by the wedding on December 16. Faith guided them, drawing from Bible verses like Genesis 2:18 and Mark 10:9.

Challenges like financial strains and poor event turnouts tested them, but highlights included ring exchanges, prayers, and Sarah walking the aisle with her brother. Francis cherishes the global guest turnout; Sarah, the vows after years of waiting.

They advise youth to prioritize faith, pray patiently, prepare well, and build networks, trusting God’s timing for the right partner.
