Eddy Kenzo, as president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), has spoken out against proposals to launch a new music federation in Uganda.

A faction of artists, spearheaded by Ziza Bafana and King Saha, voiced plans for an alternative organization. They criticized UNMF’s leadership for alleged mismanagement and opacity.

Kenzo countered by emphasizing the legal restrictions, stating that the music sector can only have one official federation until laws change. He described UNMF as the sole recognized entity.

He appealed to the critics, including Bafana and King Saha, to abandon their plans and collaborate within UNMF to promote unity and development in Uganda’s music scene.

This rift underscores persistent conflicts over governance and advocacy in the local entertainment industry.
