Nottingham Forest pulled off a stunning upset, defeating Chelsea 3-1 on their home turf in the Premier League. Forest manager Vitor Pereira rotated his squad with a crucial Europa League semi-final second leg against Aston Villa looming on Thursday, yet they dominated the match.
Taiwo Awoniyi struck first with a sharp header just two minutes in, followed by Igor Jesus converting a penalty in the 15th minute. Awoniyi added his second on a breakaway in the 52nd minute, sealing the win for the visitors.
Chelsea mounted little resistance, their performance marred by errors and lethargy. Cole Palmer saw his penalty saved before halftime.
