Management at Letshego Uganda Limited has issued assurances to staff, customers, and partners that daily operations will remain smooth during and after the ownership transition to Axian Digital Venture Holdings.
This follows Letshego Africa Holdings’ announcement of selling 100% of its shares in subsidiaries across Uganda, Ghana, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Rwanda. Publicist Roger Mugisha emphasized that the company is not leaving Uganda but plans to expand its customer base and revenue under new ownership.
‘No staff restructuring is planned due to the acquisition,’ Mugisha stated, highlighting Letshego Uganda’s strong track record in profitability and community impact.
The transaction, described by Group CEO Reinette van der Merwe as a step to boost capital efficiency and focus on core Southern African markets, still requires approvals from regulators and stock authorities. Axian’s expertise is expected to drive further financial inclusion.
Letshego, a Botswana-based firm operating for over 20 years with 46 branches in Uganda, serves millions through tech-driven microfinance products like SME and education loans.
