At Nanjing Restaurant, three emerging stars from Ugandan sports celebrated their breakthrough moments, receiving the Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards for April. Hannington Ssebwalunyo (NEC FC), Alex Aturinda (Stanbic Black Pirates), and Edrine Ekau (Rezlife Saints) each earned their first recognition, highlighting belief, timing, and exceptional talent.

NEC FC goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo shattered stereotypes by securing five clean sheets and scoring two goals, including penalties with striker-like composure. He credited his teammates, especially the goalkeeping unit, and expressed gratitude for the divine blessing of recognition after dedicated effort.

In rugby, loose forward Alex Aturinda made history for Stanbic Black Pirates in the Enterprise Cup semifinal. His two assists and winning try led to a 20-17 upset over Kenya’s Nondies on April 11, securing Uganda’s first-ever finalist spot. Pirates now face Kabras in Nairobi on May 30, with Aturinda earning Man of the Match honors.

Basketball guard Edrine Ekau, dubbed the ‘Moving Basket’ for Rezlife Saints, averaged 20 points per game. He notably dropped 25 points to end City Oilers’ unbeaten streak and has consistently performed against various opponents, aiming for a deep playoff run and championship contention.

Organized by Real Stars Sports Agency under CEO Isaac Mukasa, with Fortebet support, the event underscored these athletes’ disruptive impact. All first-time winners embody the X-factor elevating Ugandan sports.
