Authorities in Kira Division are probing a suspected murder after recovering the badly decomposed body of 52-year-old Oliver Naziwa from Kito ‘A’ village in Kirinya, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District.

The grim find occurred on May 4 at a suspect’s residence during a search prompted by a missing person report filed on April 28. Naziwa had vanished back in October 2025, according to her relatives.

Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed that clothing matching the deceased was found at the scene, helping with identification. The area was fully examined, statements taken, and the body moved to City Mortuary for postmortem to determine the cause of death.

Two individuals, one a biological relative of Naziwa, have been detained to aid the inquiry. Early evidence points to the suspects running a cult-like operation that forbade medical treatment and standard burial practices.

Police urged the public to steer clear of illegal cults, stressing that such groups pose serious risks and face strict enforcement.

The investigation remains active.
