KCCA FC’s championship hopes are hanging by a thread, effectively extinguished by a 1-1 draw against league leaders Vipers. The stalemate at Lugogo, where KCCA conceded a late equalizer after taking the lead through an Ivan Ahimbisibwe penalty, encapsulates a season defined by a failure to finish matches.

Despite creating chances and enjoying spells of dominance, KCCA has struggled with profligacy and a recurring lapse in concentration. Co-coaches Brian Ssenyondo and Jackson Magera have faced scrutiny over their tactical flexibility and reluctance to make decisive substitutions, leading to a drop in intensity when fatigue sets in.

With only four games remaining and Vipers holding a commanding seven-point lead, KCCA’s focus has shifted to salvaging pride in their remaining fixtures against Maroons, UPDF, URA, and Mbarara City. The team’s current standing of 52 points, while seemingly respectable, pales in comparison to Vipers’ dominant performance.

This season’s struggles threaten to extend KCCA’s trophy drought, which is approaching a decade. The club’s issues appear systemic, with missed opportunities and late defensive lapses defining their campaign.

In other matches, Entebbe UPPC faces UPDF in a crucial encounter, with Entebbe seeking to regain their early-season form and UPDF battling for survival.
