Saul Mulindwa, a 31-year-old mobile money agent, will soon experience a lifelong dream as he jets off to the United States to witness the FIFA World Cup.
Mulindwa, who resides in Bweyogerere, Kira Municipality, secured this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity through a Nile Special promotion. His routine evening at King’s Park Arena, which often involves enjoying a few beers, led him to participate in the draw.
He entered the raffle by purchasing Nile Special bottles, unknowingly entering a competition that saw him beat 6,340 other participants. The campaign is linked to Nile Breweries Limited’s parent company, AB InBev, the official beer partner of the FIFA World Cup.
Mulindwa, a devoted football fan since the 2002 World Cup, expressed disbelief and immense excitement upon receiving the news. He plans to follow the tournament closely and is particularly eager to watch powerhouses like Brazil and France, as well as African giants Senegal, in action at venues such as MetLife Stadium and Lincoln Financial Field.
This trip marks Mulindwa’s first time traveling outside of Uganda, transforming a routine evening into an extraordinary adventure. He is set to witness the football event held across Canada, Mexico, and the United States from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
