Three Arrested for Impersonating Museveni's Daughter and Ham Kigundu on TikTok

Police in Iganga District have arrested three people on suspicion of impersonating high-profile individuals, including President Museveni’s daughter Natasha Karugire and businessman Hamis Kigundu, on TikTok. The arrests were made on May 5, 2026, following a joint operation by police from Kiwatule and Iganga.

The operation was prompted by a complaint filed at Kiwatule Police Station concerning the alleged impersonation of Mr. Kigundu online. Surveillance teams identified the suspects’ location in Nampirika ‘A’ Village, Nakalama Sub-county, before the arrest.

Investigators say the suspects, aged between 20 and 27, allegedly created and managed multiple TikTok accounts using the identities of prominent figures, notably Natasha Museveni Karugire. One suspect was found with a phone containing accounts registered as “Natasha Karugire” and “The first daughter Natasha Museveni”.

Another phone reportedly linked to the impersonations was found with a suspect, allegedly used to create accounts such as “janet.kataha.muse5” and “first.daughter767”. A third suspect was found with a Samsung S10, believed to have been used for the TikTok account “NATASHA.K MUSEVENI SOUL”.

According to ASP Michael Kasadha, Busoga East Regional Police spokesperson, the suspects will be transferred to Kampala for prosecution. He stated that these arrests are connected to a wider crackdown on online impersonation schemes targeting the first family, referencing a previous case in February 2026 where individuals impersonating Natasha Karugire were arrested and arraigned.

Investigations are ongoing to uncover any further individuals involved in this alleged online impersonation network.
