Uganda’s coffee sector has achieved a remarkable milestone, exporting approximately 8.8 million (60-kg) bags of coffee in the twelve months leading up to April 2026. This export volume generated a substantial revenue of $2.4 billion (UGX 8.8 trillion).

This significant increase, detailed in a report by the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, shows a notable growth compared to the previous year (April 2024 to March 2025). During that period, Uganda exported 6.9 million (60kg) bags of coffee, earning $1.8 billion (UGX 6.6 trillion).

The latest figures represent a considerable jump, with a 28 percent increase in the quantity of coffee exported and a 36 percent rise in the overall value.

Italy continues to be the primary destination for Ugandan coffee, leading the list of importers. Other key markets include Sudan, Germany, India, Morocco, China, Spain, the United States, Belgium, and Portugal.
