Man, 50, Dies During Bush Sex Encounter in Luuka

Police in Luuka District are investigating the death of a 50-year-old man, identified as Simon Kalamu, who reportedly collapsed and died during a sexual encounter in a bush in Bukooma Sub-county on Monday night, May 18, 2026.

According to Busoga North Police Spokesperson, SP Samson Lubega, Kalamu was with a 40-year-old woman when the incident occurred around 9:00 PM. Preliminary findings suggest the pair moved to a nearby bush where Kalamu collapsed during their second intimate encounter.

The woman raised an alarm, attracting residents who alerted local authorities. While awaiting official postmortem results, community members have speculated that lifestyle factors, including the use of performance-enhancing substances and local herbs, may have contributed to his death.

“He had a habit of taking energy drinks and local herbs. He was also involved in relationships with different women. We suspect he could have suffered a cardiac arrest,” a local resident revealed, speaking anonymously.

SP Lubega urged the public to prioritize their health and seek medical advice before engaging in strenuous activities, noting that underlying conditions can lead to sudden medical emergencies. This incident echoes similar fatalities reported in the Busoga sub-region in recent years.

Medical experts often link sudden deaths during intercourse to underlying cardiovascular issues rather than the act itself, exacerbated by physical exertion, blood pressure spikes, or stimulant consumption.

Investigations by the police are ongoing.
