The English Premier League season is set for a thrilling conclusion this Sunday, with all ten matches kicking off at the same time. While the league title and top four Champions League places are already decided, with Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Aston Villa securing their spots, intense drama awaits at both ends of the table.

The main storyline at the bottom involves a relegation scrap between two London clubs, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United. Spurs currently sit in 17th place with 38 points, holding a two-point advantage over West Ham in 18th. Only a specific combination of results – a home defeat for Spurs against Everton and a win for West Ham against Leeds – would see Tottenham drop into the Championship. West Ham’s survival hinges on a victory and favorable results elsewhere due to their inferior goal difference.

“When you fight for the relegation, you have to stay inside of the league until the last minute of the last game of the season,” stated Spurs manager Roberto de Zerbi. “We have to stay alive. It is a big day for us. The most important is to keep the dignity, to keep the pride.”

Further up the table, the race for European football is equally captivating. Liverpool hold the advantage for fifth place, needing just a point against Brentford at Anfield, which will also mark Mohamed Salah’s potential farewell appearance. Bournemouth, on an impressive 17-game unbeaten run, are chasing Liverpool for a Champions League spot, or at least a Europa League place if Aston Villa finishes fifth. Villa’s Europa League success has opened a possibility for a sixth English club in Europe, but this depends on them securing fifth in the league, which would necessitate a Liverpool win and a Villa loss at Manchester City in what is expected to be Pep Guardiola’s final game for the club.

If Villa finishes fourth, the extended European route closes, pushing sixth place into the Europa League. Brighton & Hove Albion are the closest challengers to Bournemouth for sixth, while Chelsea, Brentford, and Sunderland are also in contention for spots in the Europa League and Conference League.

This final day promises high stakes and emotional displays as the Premier League season reaches its climax.
