Arne Slot, the incoming manager for Liverpool, has spoken out to quell speculation regarding Mohamed Salah’s recent public critique of the team’s playing style. Following Liverpool’s challenging 4-2 defeat to Aston Villa, which has complicated their Champions League qualification hopes, Salah expressed a desire for the team to rediscover their attacking identity.

Slot emphasized that he and Salah share a common objective: the best interests of Liverpool Football Club. “Mo and I have the same interests, we want the best for this club, we want it to be as successful as possible,” Slot told reporters. He acknowledged the team’s current struggles compared to last season’s triumphs but stressed his primary focus is on securing a strong finish to the current campaign and laying a solid foundation for the next.

While Salah’s comments have been a topic of discussion, Slot indicated they have not disrupted the team’s training preparations for their upcoming match against Brentford. He maintained his usual stance on team selection, declining to confirm whether Salah would feature in the final game at Anfield.

With fifth-placed Liverpool aiming to solidify their position for Champions League qualification, Slot highlighted the importance of the upcoming fixture. “I don’t think it is important what I feel, what is important is we qualify for the Champions League on Sunday,” he stated. The manager also confirmed that goalkeeper Alisson Becker has returned to training and is expected to be available for the final game, having been sidelined with a hamstring injury.
