DNA Results Shatter Identity for Alleged Kafeero Offspring

The late Ugandan music legend Prince Paul Kafeero’s legacy is now entangled in a quest for identity for several individuals who, until recently, believed they were his biological children. Devastating DNA test results have excluded 21 individuals, including Stella Nantongo and Tonny Kafeero, from the late singer’s direct lineage, leaving them emotionally shattered.

Despite the scientific findings, Nantongo and Tonny are questioning the accuracy of the tests. They stated that their mothers maintain the belief that Kafeero is their father, a conviction that has been part of their lives for years. The outcome has plunged them into uncertainty about who they are and where they belong.

The pair suggested that the DNA testing was initiated by some of Kafeero’s younger children, who they accuse of being motivated by inheritance claims rather than genuine concern. They emphasized that Kafeero raised them all as one family, irrespective of biological connections, and stated their primary goal is not property but establishing their true identity and family history.

While excluded by the DNA results, Nantongo and Tonny are receiving emotional support from some of Kafeero’s extended family members. They have opposed further DNA testing, fearing it would only prolong their distress.

Kafeero’s brother, Nyende, has pledged the family’s continued support, asserting that the DNA results will not diminish the strong bonds formed over the years. He stated that those who grew up believing they were Kafeero’s children are considered family, and this relationship will endure.

The DNA exercise, intended to clarify paternity claims, ultimately confirmed only four biological children. However, the controversy has ignited a significant conversation about the nature of family, belonging, and identity extending beyond biological ties.
