Kasangati RDC Emphasizes Integrity for New PDM Leaders

Newly elected leaders of the Parish Development Model (PDM) in Kasangati have been called upon to serve their communities with utmost integrity and transparency. The call came from Kasangati Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Hajji Juma Kigongo, who emphasized that effective leadership is paramount to the success of the government’s PDM initiative.

The remarks were made following elections held in Bulamu, Gayaza, and Kabubu parishes, where new committee leaders were chosen to oversee the PDM program at the local level. The election process was guided by Deputy RDC James Kalisima and PDM officials, who ensured residents understood the program’s objectives and the leaders’ responsibilities.

During the elections, aspiring candidates presented their plans, and Ruth Niwagaba was elected chairperson for the Bulamu Parish PDM Committee. Niwagaba pledged to serve all residents equally and work diligently to ensure the PDM benefits eligible households.

Deputy RDC Kalisima highlighted that these elections align with the President’s directive to establish and strengthen PDM committees for better program implementation. He stressed the significant role these leaders play in the initiative’s success.

RDC Kigongo acknowledged that the election process faced challenges, with some attempts to politicize the program leading to postponements in two parishes. Despite these hurdles, elections were successfully completed across all eight parishes in Kasangati, with new PDM committees now in place.

Kigongo urged the elected officials to remain accountable to the people who entrusted them with leadership, imploring them to serve honestly and ensure the PDM delivers its intended benefits to every deserving household.
