Muslim religious leaders in Kayunga District are set to enhance their pastoral work following the donation of six motorcycles. This initiative aims to significantly improve the leaders’ ability to travel and deliver essential Islamic services across the district.

The handover ceremony took place at the Kayunga Muslim District headquarters and the Main Mosque in Kyerima Trading Centre. The motorcycles were presented by Sheikh Hafiz Muhammad Harunah Bukenya, the Second Deputy Mufti of Uganda.

Sheikh Bukenya revealed that he had personally advocated for this donation. The contribution came from a generous individual who wished to remain anonymous, motivated by seeking divine pleasure and facilitating the propagation of Islam as per the donor’s request.

The donation addresses long-standing transport challenges faced by religious leaders, which had hindered their ability to perform their duties effectively. Improved mobility will allow them to connect with more communities and better fulfill their responsibilities.

During the event, Sheikh Bukenya also reminded congregants of the importance of gratitude, the obligation of Zakat, and the virtues of unity and brotherhood within the Muslim community. He prayed for Allah’s blessings upon the anonymous donor.

Sheikh Imran Abdnoor Ssali, the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council Secretary for Religious Affairs, advised the beneficiaries to use the motorcycles responsibly, prioritizing safety and avoiding excessive speed, so that the vehicles effectively support their service to the Muslim community.
