President Yoweri Museveni recently hosted Baroness Chapman, the UK’s Minister of State for International Development and Africa, at State House Entebbe. The high-level meeting focused on bolstering the enduring partnership between Uganda and the United Kingdom, with a key emphasis on enhancing investment and economic collaboration.

During their discussions, President Museveni encouraged British and European investors to explore the abundant opportunities available in Africa. He emphasized that the continent is ripe for economic expansion, trade, and shared prosperity, presenting a compelling case for increased foreign direct investment.

The President highlighted that forged investment partnerships are crucial for driving value addition, industrialization initiatives, and significantly boosting job creation across the continent. He further underscored that these collaborations are vital for growing trade that benefits both Africa and Europe.

President Museveni extended a warm welcome to Baroness Chapman, expressing his gratitude for the warm and cordial relationship that has long characterized the ties between Uganda and the United Kingdom. The meeting was attended by several dignitaries, including Haruna Kasolo Kyeyune, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Lisa Chesney, the British High Commissioner to Uganda, among other government officials.
