The North Kigezi Diocese has a new leader in its Bwanga Archdeaconry with the installation of Ven. Amatsiko Niwegariho. Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe officiated the service, charging Ven. Niwegariho to remain steadfast in preaching the authentic Gospel and to lead with profound humility.

During the installation service on Sunday, Bishop Asiimwe underscored that the new Archdeacon’s duties should align with the diocesan vision of “increasing corporate prayer and healing services in all churches for revival.” Drawing from 1 Peter 5:1–11, the Bishop reminded the clergy of their role as shepherds under the ultimate authority of Jesus Christ.

Ven. Niwegariho was specifically encouraged to nourish God’s people through diligent preaching of the Scriptures, to pray for the sick, and to minister justly to all individuals, irrespective of their background. “Feed the Lord’s flock through faithful preaching of God’s Word and serve His people with humility,” Bishop Asiimwe stated, emphasizing service under Christ’s authority.

The Bishop further stressed the Church’s need to be attuned to societal changes and to provide pastoral care to every believer. He urged the new Archdeacon to offer comfort to the distressed, guide those astray, and to prioritize the proclamation of salvation over personal comfort or accolades.

Following his installation, Ven. Niwegariho, alongside his wife Grace, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them and pledged to collaborate with Bishop Asiimwe in advancing the Gospel and the diocese’s mission. The ceremony was attended by various diocesan officials, local leaders, and a large congregation of Christians, who also pledged their support and highlighted plans for a fundraising event to support the construction of a new church sanctuary.
