UPPC Football Club has set its sights on sustained success after unveiling a substantial Shs1.2 billion budget for the 2026/27 financial year. The announcement came during the club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Entebbe, where officials from the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) and the Uganda Premier League (UPL) issued a strong advisory.
Representatives from FUFA and UPL emphasized the necessity for UPPC FC to fortify its governance structures, commercial operations, and player development pathways. While acknowledging the club’s impressive performance in its inaugural Uganda Premier League season, where it secured sixth place with 51 points, the authorities stressed that long-term viability hinges on robust institutional frameworks.
Hajjat Aisha Nalule of FUFA highlighted that good governance, financial accountability, and commercial growth are not merely beneficial but critical for clubs aspiring to achieve lasting stability. Similarly, UPL officials urged the club to explore diversified revenue streams and cultivate strong commercial partnerships.
Despite the external guidance, UPPC FC faces internal challenges, particularly regarding infrastructure. Club President Sarah Nabirye pointed to the absence of a permanent training ground and home stadium as significant concerns, impacting player development and operational efficiency. The club is actively seeking support from stakeholders to acquire essential facilities.
The approved Shs1.2 billion budget, presented by CEO Fahad Lumu, is earmarked for crucial areas such as club operations, player welfare, technical programs, and administrative activities. This financial plan aims to consolidate UPPC FC’s position in the top division and foster its growth into a formidable force in Ugandan football.
Members expressed optimism that by strengthening governance, ensuring responsible financial management, and continuing investment in talent, UPPC FC can achieve greater accolades in the seasons ahead. While the debut season was a success, the club is now focused on building a sustainable future.
