Ghetto Kids to Perform at 2026 World Cup Final Alongside Shakira; Share Hotel with Messi

Uganda’s sensational dance crew, the Ghetto Kids, are gearing up for a monumental performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final. They are scheduled to share the stage with global music icon Shakira during the highly anticipated event in New Jersey on July 19.

The group’s manager, Dauda Kavuma, shared the exciting news, revealing that the young dancers are currently lodging at the same hotel as football legend Lionel Messi and the entire Argentina national team. This proximity adds an extra layer of star power to their already significant World Cup appearance.

Originally, the Ghetto Kids were slated to perform during the tournament’s opening ceremony, following their feature in Shakira’s World Cup song “Dai Dai.” However, plans have shifted, and they have now been granted the prestigious opportunity to perform at the grand finale.

“We are so happy. This has been God’s work from the very beginning. We have walked this journey with only God, and we thank Him for every blessing,” expressed Dauda Kavuma, attributing their success to divine providence.

Further bolstering their presence, additional members of the Ghetto Kids are expected to join the contingent in the United States before the performance. However, current U.S. resident and group member Patricia Nabakooza will miss the event as she prioritizes her academic commitments.

The Ghetto Kids continue to solidify their status as a leading entertainment export from Uganda, captivating international audiences with their electrifying performances and collaborations with global artists.
