Brig Gen Nyakikuru Takes Charge of Special Forces Command

The Special Forces Command (SFC) in Uganda has a new acting leader. Brig Gen Asaph Mweteise Nyakikuru has been appointed to the position by Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who serves as the Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations.
In addition to his new command role, Brig Gen Nyakikuru has also been granted the acting rank of Major General. This appointment and promotion are effective immediately, as confirmed by Col Chris Magezi, the acting UPDF spokesperson.
The outgoing commander, Major General David Mugisha, is set to depart for an international National Defence College (NDC) course within the coming months. The UPDF has expressed gratitude to Maj Gen Mugisha for his dedicated service as SFC commander and extended best wishes for his upcoming strategic security studies.
Similarly, the UPDF congratulated Acting Major General Asaph Mweteise Nyakikuru on his well-earned appointment and promotion, wishing him success in his new responsibilities.
