The Uganda Joint Christian Council (UJCC) has raised concerns with the government regarding what it describes as unofficial fees being charged by several church-founded schools across the country. The council has formally submitted a petition outlining these alleged charges and urging government intervention.
UJCC’s petition highlights that these extra levies, often not part of the official school fees structure, are a burden on parents, particularly those already struggling financially. The council advocates for transparency and adherence to Ministry of Education guidelines concerning school fees.
