Museveni in Tanzania for Crucial Two-Day Working Visit

President Yoweri Museveni has landed in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, commencing a significant two-day working visit. The trip, extended at the invitation of his Tanzanian counterpart, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, is poised to deepen the already strong ties between the two East African nations.

Upon his arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport, President Museveni was warmly welcomed by Tanzania’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, alongside Uganda’s High Commissioner to Tanzania, Col. Fred Mwesigye, and other distinguished government officials.

The presidential reception included a ceremonial inspection of a silent guard of honour and an engaging cultural dance performance, setting a cordial tone for the visit.

During his stay, President Museveni is expected to engage in high-level bilateral discussions with President Hassan. Key agenda items are anticipated to cover strengthening cooperation, advancing regional integration within the East African Community (EAC), boosting trade and investment, promoting infrastructure development, and enhancing peace and security initiatives.

The visit underscores the shared commitment of Uganda and Tanzania to fostering a robust strategic partnership that benefits both nations and the wider region.
