Government Chief Whip Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng has issued a formal summons to all members of the NRM Parliamentary Caucus for a significant meeting slated for Friday, August 7, 2026. The gathering is set to take place at the Kololo Ceremonial Independence Grounds, commencing at 12:00 PM.

In a notice signed by Aceng, who also chairs the caucus, members are urged to make a personal effort to attend. This directive underscores the importance of the upcoming deliberations for the ruling party.

As a precautionary measure, all attending Members of Parliament have been directed to undertake mandatory COVID-19 testing. The testing facilities are located at Conference Hall B within the Parliamentary Building. The exercise commenced on Wednesday afternoon and will continue through Thursday, operating between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

The invitation was extended to key party leaders, including President Yoweri Museveni, who is the National Chairperson of the NRM, as well as Vice President Jessica Alupo, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, and NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong.

While the specific agenda remains undisclosed, these caucus meetings typically serve to align the party’s stance on critical legislative matters before they are presented and debated in the plenary session of Parliament. The timing of this meeting is significant, as Parliament is currently deliberating several important government bills and other issues of national concern that will require a cohesive NRM position.

Legislators from the NRM party have been strongly encouraged to prioritize their attendance, as the resolutions reached during these caucus sessions often shape the official position of the ruling party during parliamentary proceedings.
