Bishop Serverus Jjumba of the Masaka Diocese has lauded the Nyunga Foundation for its substantial contributions to educational advancement and the support of underprivileged children. His praise came during a recent meeting with members of the Engabi Ennyunga clan, led by Omutaka Kannyana Daniel Kiwana, at the Curia in Kitovu.

The foundation, headed by Stephen Muyunga (also the Katikkiro of the Engabi Ennyunga clan), has made a notable impact, assisting 25,301 children to date. Beyond education, the Nyunga Foundation engages in various community projects, including aiding in the construction of places of worship.

Bishop Jjumba highlighted the foundation’s critical role in enabling access to education for children who would otherwise face significant hurdles. “This initiative has greatly contributed to raising the standard of education by supporting children who have no one to help them,” he stated.

He urged the public to support the foundation’s endeavors, emphasizing the collective responsibility to ensure its objectives are met. “The time has come for everyone to fulfil their responsibility and ensure that the purpose for which this foundation was established is fully achieved,” the Bishop added.

Stephen Muyunga, who also serves as the Executive Director of the Nyunga Foundation, described their approach as non-discriminatory charitable support, prioritizing those in genuine need. “We carry out this work of charity without discrimination. We support anyone who is in need,” Muyunga affirmed.

Muyunga encouraged acts of kindness, suggesting that sharing resources with those less fortunate attracts divine blessings. “People should give from the little they have to help those in need, so that they may receive their reward from God our Father,” he appealed.

The delegation presented gifts to Bishop Jjumba and diocesan priests as a token of appreciation for their spiritual guidance and support.
