Junior Local Government Minister Justine Nameere has addressed the public concerning the financial assistance provided to TikToker Benitah.

Contrary to initial reports, Benitah received Shs5 million, not the widely speculated $10,000. Minister Nameere explained that her team grew concerned after identifying several inconsistencies in Benitah’s narrative regarding her situation in Bahrain.

“She received five million instead of US Dollar ten thousand because of many discrepancies in her story. There is a lot of inconsistencies, she says this today and tomorrow says otherwise,” Minister Nameere stated.

Furthermore, the minister revealed that efforts to help Benitah return to Uganda were also met with refusal. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was approached to facilitate her repatriation, but Benitah reportedly declined the offer.

Instead, Benitah requested financial aid to settle a debt she had accumulated in Bahrain. Minister Nameere’s personal assistant subsequently facilitated the transfer of Shs5 million to address this debt.

The clarification comes after Benitah publicly accused Minister Nameere of failing to fulfill an earlier promise of $10,000.
