Kenyan Mother Allegedly Stabs Five Children in Kampala Home, Two Dead

Tragedy struck in the Bunga area of Kampala when a 43-year-old Kenyan woman, identified as Dorothy Namayo, allegedly attacked her five children with a knife. The horrific incident, which occurred at the family’s home, left two children dead and three others injured.

According to preliminary reports, the violence erupted following a domestic quarrel between Namayo and her Malian husband, Ederisa Troy. Namayo reportedly accused her husband of taking another wife, which is believed to have triggered the fatal attack on their children.

The deceased have been identified as 14-year-old Khadija Daizy, who died at the scene from a stab wound to the neck, and 7-year-old Hawa Dalena, who passed away from her injuries at Nsambya Hospital. The three surviving children, aged 13, eight, and five, are currently receiving medical treatment.

Sources close to the family, including the housemaid Mariam Saana, indicated that the couple had been experiencing marital problems for months. These issues reportedly escalated after Troy allegedly took a second wife, allegedly seeking a son as Namayo had only given birth to daughters.

Neighbours described hearing a commotion and seeing a car on fire outside the home on the morning of the incident. Upon investigation, they discovered the house was locked from the inside. After forcing entry, they found the children injured and Namayo in a pool of blood, having apparently locked herself in a room. She was subsequently rushed to Nsambya Hospital, where she is also in critical condition.

Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this deeply disturbing event, including the exact sequence of events leading up to the fatal assault.

This incident occurred just kilometers from the Gaba Landing Site, where a similar tragedy involving the stabbing deaths of four toddlers took place earlier this year.
