Mourinho Believes Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., and Bellingham Can Coexist

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho acknowledges the significant tactical challenge of integrating superstars Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., and Jude Bellingham into a cohesive unit. While acknowledging it will be difficult to find the “perfect set-up,” Mourinho firmly believes the trio is not “incompatible.”

Mourinho stated that top players naturally want to play alongside other elite talents. However, he conceded that “after the tactical adjustments, it might be a little bit more difficult” to ensure everyone is comfortable and effective on the pitch.

This sentiment echoes previous comments from Jude Bellingham, who noted that while they often mix well, having all three on the field simultaneously can sometimes “disorganise a bit.” Bellingham highlighted the need for trust in his teammates’ abilities during these fluid moments.

Last season saw Bellingham’s goal-scoring output drop significantly as he often played a deeper role to help balance the team, a move that also didn’t fully resolve spacing issues in attack. Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. also found themselves drifting into similar areas, creating congestion.

The Portuguese manager, however, remains optimistic. He pointed to his previous success at Real Madrid with an attack featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and Gonzalo Higuain, which set a La Liga scoring record. Mourinho is confident that with careful tactical planning, he can unlock the potential of this new star-studded front line, ensuring a “great season” for the club.
