Salam TV has announced the commencement of the seventh annual “Omumanyi wa Salam TV” competition, marking its expansion to a nationwide scale. The campaign kicked off in Eastern Uganda, with organizers actively engaging communities to encourage registration and inviting companies and individuals to support the initiative.
First introduced in Kampala in 2021, the competition has evolved into a significant national event, having awarded thousands of Ugandans with prizes ranging from vehicles and pilgrimage opportunities to land titles and motorcycles.
This year’s edition was launched in the Busoga region, with plans to extend its reach to numerous districts across Uganda. The primary goal is to ensure that every Ugandan has a chance to participate.
To enhance its reach, Salam TV has partnered with Sanyuka TV. This collaboration is expected to provide greater media coverage and create more value for both participants and sponsors.
Abudussalaam Ali Kinobe, a representative from Salam TV, highlighted that the competition’s format has been simplified to make information more accessible. A comprehensive guidebook, covering over 90 topic areas for the competition’s questions, is now available. While the guidebook costs Shs40,000, registered participants can purchase it for Shs20,000, with the registration fee also set at Shs20,000.
The campaign officially begins in Iganga District, the hometown of the previous champion, Ali Matsaad. Future phases will cover other regions. Organizers encourage participation with the slogan, “Come and learn as you win.”
Regional victors will advance to the grand finale in Kampala, where the most prestigious prizes will be awarded. This year’s edition promises an even greater number of prizes compared to previous years, and Salam TV is actively seeking support from corporate partners and well-wishers.
The expanded campaign aims to blend educational engagement with tangible opportunities for participants to improve their economic circumstances through the substantial prizes offered.
