Sheikh Abubakar Ausi has issued a strong call to Muslims, emphasizing the critical importance of fulfilling their Zakah obligations. Speaking during special Jumah prayers in Mbale City, as part of the Salam TV “Omumanyi wa Salam TV” mobilization drive, Sheikh Ausi highlighted that Zakah is the third pillar of Islam and should not be overlooked.

The prayers, held at Masjid Raudha, saw the prominent cleric address a congregation, noting that while many Muslims adhere to other Islamic tenets, some neglect Zakah, a matter he deemed “serious.”

Sheikh Ausi issued a stern warning, stating that individuals who are eligible to pay Zakah but fail to do so before their death will face accountability before Allah. He underscored the need for widespread education on Zakah to ensure all Muslims understand its significance and perform it diligently, just as they do with prayer, fasting, and Hajj.

“When a rich person pays Zakah, his wealth is purified and is always protected by Allah,” Sheikh Ausi stated, explaining that wealth bestowed by Allah carries a responsibility to support the less fortunate. He urged Muslim leaders to give Zakah the same prominence in their teachings as they do for other pillars of Islam.

The emphasis was on fostering greater awareness to ensure that all eligible Muslims recognize and meet this fundamental religious duty. The message resonated through Mbale City, aiming to reinforce the spiritual and communal benefits of practicing Zakah.
