Authorities in Luwero District have apprehended two men, Timothy Nsubuga and David Katerega, in connection with the brutal murder of a local boda boda rider. The victim was reportedly attacked and robbed of his motorcycle in the early hours of August 20, 2026.
According to police reports, the assailants used a hammer to strike the rider before escaping with his Bajaj Boxer motorcycle. The incident took place in Mabanda Zone, PWD Ward, within Luwero Town Council.
Passersby discovered the injured rider and immediately transported him to Luwero General Hospital. He was later referred to Mulago National Referral Hospital, where he tragically passed away due to his injuries.
Responding swiftly to the reported aggravated robbery, detectives utilized a tracking device installed on the stolen motorcycle. This technology led them to the vehicle’s location in a parking yard in Kasegenge village, Wakiso District, which in turn guided them to the suspects now in custody.
Police suspect the arrested individuals are part of a larger organized crime syndicate responsible for numerous motorcycle thefts in the Luwero area. Further interrogations are planned to uncover their networks and identify any other potential accomplices.
The recovered motorcycle is currently being held as evidence as the investigation into the full details of the attack and murder continues. The suspects are detained at Luwero Town Council Police Station.
