Patience Rwabwogo's Consecration as Bishop is Divine Recognition of Family's Service, Says Janet Museveni

First Lady Janet Museveni has articulated deep gratitude following the consecration of her daughter, Pastor Patience Rwabwogo, as an Episcopal Bishop of the Covenant Nations Church (CNC). The significant event, held at Covenant Hill in Maya, coincided with the 20th anniversary of the ministry’s founding as a house fellowship.

Janet Museveni described the consecration as a profound indication that God remembers the sacrifices and devoted service of His faithful, both past and present. She conveyed that the family was overwhelmed with joy and thanksgiving for the honour bestowed upon Patience to serve God in this elevated capacity.

“This consecration proves that You remember the faithful sacrifices of Your saints who have long since gone home to glory,” Janet Museveni stated, interpreting the event as a divine affirmation. She further expressed that Patience’s elevation served as a personal reminder of God’s acknowledgment of her and President Museveni’s own years of service to the nation.

The ceremony, presided over by American evangelist Bishop Dr. LaDonna Osborn, saw the presentation of a ministerial certificate and Bible to the newly consecrated bishop. Prominent figures, including Nigerian preacher Pastor Enoch Adeboye and his wife, Vice President Jessica Alupo, and cabinet ministers, were in attendance.

Patience Rwabwogo, who started the Covenant Nations Church two decades ago, received various episcopal symbols, including the ring, staff, cross, mitre, and cope, from officiating clergy. Janet Museveni reflected on her daughter’s lifelong Christian calling, noting her commitment to ministry that began 20 years prior.

The First Lady prayed for renewed spiritual strength and a ‘double portion anointing’ for Patience and her husband, Odrek, as they embrace their expanded responsibilities. She concluded by expressing thanks for the family’s blessings, including long life and the opportunity to witness the peace and prosperity of Uganda over the years.
