Mubende Gears Up to Host National Primary Schools Ball Games

Mubende District is all set to welcome participants for the National Primary Schools Ball Games and Special Needs Education (SNE) Championship. Organizers have confirmed that all arrangements for the 10-day event are complete, signaling readiness to host athletes from primary schools nationwide.

This significant sporting event aims to foster a love for sports among young Ugandan children and identify emerging talent. William Bwambale, President of the Uganda Primary Schools Sports Association (UPSSA), emphasized that the games provide a crucial platform for nurturing abilities and offering pathways for future development.

Notably, this marks the first time the national primary schools ball games will be held in the central region of Uganda. Officials expressed optimism that Mubende will offer an excellent environment for the competition, anticipating the discovery and nurturing of young athletes who could one day represent the nation on higher stages.

Bwambale also urged parents to encourage their children’s involvement in sports, highlighting its potential role in shaping a successful future. Mubende District Sports Officer, Robert Ssaka, corroborated the district’s readiness, assuring that all necessary preparations are in place for a smooth and successful championship.

The district anticipates the games will significantly contribute to identifying and promoting talent across various sporting disciplines. The championship is scheduled to run for ten days, concluding on September 4, 2026.
